THANK YOU Midnight Woofness Volunteers!

May 19th, 2011

Hello Midnight Woofness Volunteers!

We just wanted to let all of our wonderful volunteers know that our official adoption total from Midnight Woofness III: Under the Big Top this past weekend was 565!!! That’s 565 lives saved, and 565 deserving dogs and cats that are able to enjoy their new families this week.

A huge thank you to ALL of the volunteers that helped plan the event, donated items for the Midway prizes, promoted it at events and on social media, and of course helped out at the event. There is no way we could have done it without each of you!!

Be on the lookout for sign-ups for our fall event, which will be October 14-16 at the Edmond PetSmart off Broadway and 19th Street. You should receive a sign-up e-mail for that in mid-September!

Thank you again!

Midnight Woofness III’s 500th Adoption!

May 15th, 2011

Meet Domino, a four-month-old lab mix from the OKC Animal Shelter. He’s a very special dog in so many ways–he is our 500th adoption at Midnight Woofness III: Under the Big Top! This means we have met our goal of finding homes for 500 animals, AND surpassed our own record of 488 adoptions (set in October 2010).

We’re so happy for Domino and ALL his friends that found new homes this weekend.

Sunday Morning at Midnight Woofness!

May 15th, 2011

Things are still rockin’ here at the PetSmart at I-40 and MacArthur, and we hope YOU will come down and join us!

We’re about 40 hours into our event, and are getting ever-closer to our goal of 500 adoptions. We’ve done about 465 adoptions so far. What’s amazing about this particular event (Even from past Midnight Woofness events) is that we have SO many amazing dogs still left for adoption.

At this time during past events we had some dogs left, but not the variety and quality that we still do. I mean, we’ve got puppies left, tiny dogs left (chihuahua mixes, poodle mixes, terrier mixes)–usually those are the first to go! So many gorgeous purebred boxers from Red Dirt Boxer Rescue, too!

And the adoption fees! Adoption fees for these great dogs ranges from $25 to $150. What a bargain! To get a dog that is already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and free of fleas and ticks, you just can’t beat the cost. We want everyone who wants a pet to be able to take one home.

And I haven’t even MENTIONED the cats! Our cats are troopers; even though they are in climate-controlled trailers and therefore insulated from some of the noise of the event (barking dogs, generators, etc.) they are still cats, after all! They like a good, quiet, uninterrupted 18-hour nap every day. So they are extra-anxious to get to a new HOME and straight to the business of a good nap, thank you very much!

Cat adoptions are $10 today, but ONLY until noon! So come on out in the next 1 1/2 hours and see the beautiful cats we have for adoption.

If you’ve been on the fence about adopting a new pet, adding to your family–this is the time. This is the event. You’ll be glad you did, and best of all, you’ll be literally saving a life.
